As a member of your TRIBE, it is your responsibility to get an HIV test and know your status.

Expanded Rapid HIV Testing Initiative

 

· The Integration of Rapid HIV Testing in existing POCT at tribal health clinics, tribal CD organizations, and tribal member volunteers

· Rapid HIV Tester Training

· HIV Prevention Counseling

· Support and Referral

· Tribal Member Volunteerism Initiative

· Youth and pre-teen (ages 6-12) HIV education and prevention

· Expanded Rapid HIV Test Event Team

· Bundled Testing event in cooperative effort with tribal organizations & health departments.

Community Outreach –

 

· HIV/AIDS, STD, and Substance Use Prevention and Education –

· Ongoing Community Outreach to Lummi, Nooksack, Upper-Skagit, Swinomish, and Tulalip.

· Rapid HIV Testing Initiative – Partnering with the Minority AIDS Initiative through the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (S.A.M.H.S.A.)

· Community Events – Community Readiness – Community Forums – Community Seminars – Community Workshops

· Partnering with the Lummi Health Commission, Event Co-participation, K-12 Summer Health Fair.

 

Projects

 

Scheduled for the next fiscal year fall 2010– 2012 and beyond.

 

· In-home rapid HIV Testing Project – On-going in-home private Rapid HIV Testing and Counseling.

· Youth HIV/AIDS, STD, Substance Use Outreach for Lummi, Nooksack, Upper Skagit, Swinomish, & Tulalip. 

· Recruitment for peer speakers and information sharing programs.

· Youth Outreach Events –

· Rapid HIV Testing and Chlamydia Testing for 14 and older youth at risk.
