Ti-chee Native AIDS Prevention Project

As a member of your tribe, it is your responsibility to get an HIV test and know your status.

It is what we do for our PEOPLE!!!

Our motto is “We strive to Raise the Standards of Excellence” and we are very sincere about this commitment.  It is our goal to help each and every tribal member who is affected by HIV/AIDS whether they be individuals living with the disease or friends and family members directly involved with an individual who is living with HIV/AIDS.

We are proud to be funded presently through a $90,000.00 a year | 2 year grant from the Indian Health Service National HIV Program which we received in August  2010 and will be ending July 2012.  However, this grant only covers the expenses involved with the immediate work on the Expanded Rapid HIV Testing Initiative for which the grant was written.  This does not cover our back end expenses such as communications, office or administration costs nor does it cover any expenses for direct support such as food, clothing, transportation, or shelter.

Other programs which are not covered in this grant is our STD/HepC/Substance and Alcohol Abuse Youth, Elders, & Community Outreach.  We have applied for additional grant money, but to date have not heard word of any award.  We are at an important pivotal point in the fight against HIV, STDs, and HCV (HepC).  Our work with the Indian Health Service to promote Prevention and Education for these serious issues is tantamount in our priorities, but without support for our infrastructure we won’t be able to see any of our hard work to it’s fruition.

We are asking everyone who reads these words to search deep into your hearts, and we would ask you to please help us in our work by digging deep into you pockets and donate whatever you can so that we can continue our very important work with Native American/Alaskan Native people in our fight against life threatening disease in Indian Country.
